Golden Age of Hollywood & Hearst Castle

The Hollywood and Hearst Tour

Just north of Los Angeles, the majestic Hearst Castle is nestled between the central shoreline and hillsides lined with blue oak trees. For folks who enjoy exploring California’s colorful Hollywood history and the personalities who lived life flamboyantly, perhaps the community of San Simeon and the Hearst Castle is a One Tank Getaway worthy of the venture and a tour. The property showcases one-of-a-kind artwork, gardens, unique architectural designs and vista views like no other place on the planet.

It was once of the home of newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst, who frequently hosted movie stars, celebrities and politicians of the era. Among the notable frequent visitors were Clark Gable & Carol Lombard (who stayed in one of the famous twin towers for their honeymoon), Cary Grant and Jack Warner. Warner was one of the founders of Warner Brothers Pictures Studio and radio stations, including the legendary KFWB 980 Los Angeles.

The castle’s new ‘Hollywood and Hearts’ tour takes you through some of the castle’s private rooms, secret hallways and private living quarters of William Randolph Hearst and the manor’s first lady Marion Davies. Plan ahead, as only 8 visitors per tour are allowed and this tour will be in high demand!
